Through the Lenten Appeal, we invite you to help fund requests in the form of grants to help developing monasteries and the people they serve.
In writing about the observance of Lent in his Holy Rule, St. Benedict invites us to devote ourselves to extra prayer, reading, and self-denial so that each of us has “something above the assigned measure to offer God.” This Lenten project is one way for you to enter into the spirit of the Lenten observance
Would you consider joining Benedictine and Cistercian men and women in the United States and Canada to help monasteries in developing countries of Asia, Africa, and Latin America through the annual AIM Lenten Appeal?
It is a simple but significant effort. Benedictines and Cistercians and their Oblates in the United States and Canada are invited to pray, fast, and give alms for a common action.
During Lent, please join us in:
- Saying the AIM prayer each day (click here);
- Fasting in a special way on Wednesday and/or Friday
- Donating to the projects that are shown in the image (click for full pdf flier).
Consider the AIM USA Lenten Appeal as a project for your group (parish, prayer group, school, youth ministry); if you need prayer cards and/or envelopes, please contact us.
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to call or write. We can be reached at 814-453-4724 or aim@aim-usa.org.
Please do whatever you can. Your response will mean more than you can imagine for our monastic families in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Use the button below to access our secure PayPal page or send a check to AIM USA, 345 East Ninth Street, Erie, PA 16503. Thank you.
Pax,
